Kathryn Hudson  certified nlp practitioner coach

Founder/Creator - featherstar nlp coaching

Kathryn has a diverse background in both her career and life.  Her passion and enthusiasm comes from her determination to achieve her dreams and to help others do the same.

From an early age, Kathryn proved to herself that she could reach any of her goals if she believed in herself. Believing alone did not get her there, but it took persistence, action and never giving up. Ever since she discovered this truth in herself, she has actively strived to reach her goals and make them happen.

In 1994, Kathryn was selected by Rotary International to be an ambassador as an international exchange student in USA. Kathryn gained a broader aspect of life throughout her exchange year. She met exchange students from all over the world and this put her in touch with the realistic value and importance of languages.

Upon returning to Australia, she was awarded an American Express Foundations Scholarship. The scholarship was for university studies over a four year period. Judging took place in Hong Kong and included all Amex offices worldwide.

In 1995, she studied a Bachelor of Arts (Languages) and majored in French and Spanish languages.

Whilst studying at university, she developed a network marketing business with her father, who had inspired her towards having a positive mental attitude from the age of 14.  She specialised in skincare and cosmetics and later moved into jewellery.  In addition to studying and developing a part time business, Kathryn maintained a part-time job in retail.

Although a career in languages was never pursued, she developed a range of clerical and people skills through various secretarial and administration roles. Those roles ranged from working in a travel agency, hospital, insurance company and bank.

In 1999, she started her seven year career in sales at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Providing membership and education advice to company directors and senior executives. Networking with these high flyers is where she learnt about the fast paced corporate world.

Of course, one job during the day is never enough for this young entrepreneur. During a holiday with her mother on the central coast, she developed a passion for making beaded jewellery. Friends purchased her creations of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Soon sales came from every direction including a corporate secretary morning tea, hosted jewellery parties, women's expo, weddings and then where every jewel maker has ever gone, the markets.

Her next new adventure came when she decided to sell all her belongings and moved to China.  Before she left for China, she had the mammoth task of selling everything she owned. Kathryn was a stallholder at various market hotspots such as Balmain and North Rocks during the peak of summer.

Kathryn became an International Teacher of English as a Second Language.  Kathryn was an ESL teacher at Suzhou International Foreign Language School - a private full time boarding school. Suzhou is a small town of six million people and is located one hour train ride from Shanghai.  Kathryn taught grade ten students to prepare them for highschool in Australia, grade four students at summer camp and 60 delightful seven year olds in the grade one class. Her ability to interact with a variety of ages is one of her many talents.

On returning to Australia In 2008, Kathryn studied and became a certified practitioner in nlp, hypnosis and time line therapy. This is what inspired her to start a business in nlp coaching.

Kathryn believes so much in getting clear for what she wants in life, that she has a coach of her own. Kathryn says that "sometimes when you are in a problem, or feel stuck, you need someone to help you see which way to go, and my coach does exactly that. My coach also keeps me accountable to taking action. My coach is firm but fair and that's the kind of coach i will model myself on".

In May 2009, Kathryn will be studying her Master Practitioner course with the Tad James Company.

Kathryn's 2009 goals also include being a participant in the Business Chicks Cambodia Challenge 2009, to raise money to help kids have a better life.
